Corner Stories
Corner Stories is a film photography project that invites viewers to pause and reflect, showing quiet moments and everyday scenes in neighborhood stores. Through analog photography, it reveals beauty in familiar places - from morning deliveries to late-night conversations, capturing how these spaces connect people and their communities.
Concept
Corner Stories focuses on New Orleans' corner stores, places often passed by without a second glance. Some house decades of neighborhood memory behind their counters, while others serve as daily meeting points where locals catch up between errands.
Project
This series documents corner stores across New Orleans through film photography. Each frame captures something different - shelves stocked with everyday items, conversations between regulars, or sunlight falling across well-worn floors.
Approach
Using medium format and 35mm film cameras, the project takes time with each location, watching how different hours bring different rhythms. Some photos show quiet mornings as shops open, others catch afternoon rushes or evening gatherings.
Book & Exhibit
The work will come together as a book and gallery exhibition, letting viewers spend time with these spaces and the stories they hold. The photographs will be printed large-scale for the gallery, while the book will pair images with observations collected along the way.
Support The Project
This project runs on film stock, darkroom time, and a whole bunch of other stuff. For those interested in supporting the work, I welcome help with photography materials and exhibition costs. Your support helps create a lasting document of these neighborhood spaces.
Pre-orders for the book and limited edition prints are available now. Check them out here.
